Structure of the Wild Blackthorn

Two Interwoven Paths

The Wild Blackthorn honors both the path of the Witch and the path of the Magician. These are woven together yet distinct, allowing each seeker to follow the calling of their soul.

​

• The Priesthood Path (Grove and Coven) - a journey of service, ritual leadership, and devotion to the Gods.

• The Wysardan Path - a journey of magickal arts and sciences, exploring power, craft, and mastery.

 

Both paths may be walked together or separately, depending on the seeker’s calling.

Outer and Inner Courts

• The Grove (Outer Court)

  • The place where the journey begins.

  • Open to Seekers and Dedicants.

  • Focus on foundational teachings, seasonal rituals, and preparation for deeper work.\

• The Coven (Inner Court)

  • For Initiates and above.

  • A space of initiatory training, advanced ritual, and communal practice.

  • Home to deeper mysteries of both Witch and Wysard.

Training within the Wild Blackthorn Tradition is never charged. The work of the Grove and Coven is a gift freely given to sincere seekers who dedicate themselves to the path. Our Academy classes, by contrast, are open to the public and may carry tuition. This distinction protects the integrity of the Tradition while allowing wider access to the teachings through the Academy.

 

 

Degrees and Elevations

The Wild Blackthorn follows a dual ladder of advancement:

• Priesthood Degrees: Seeker → Novitiate → Initiate → Ordinate → High Ordinate → Grand Elder

• Wysardan Elevations: Apprentice → Wysard → Master/Mistress Wysard → Elder Wysard → Grand Master/Mistress

 

Advancement is not about titles alone, but the deepening of wisdom, responsibility, and service.

The Academy

The Wild Blackthorn Academy offers public classes, workshops, and certificate programs. This is the gateway for those curious about witchcraft and magickal arts, and it provides seekers with structured learning without requiring initiatory membership.

Solitary Path

Not all who are called to the Blackthorn walk within a coven. For sincere and dedicated practitioners who walk alone, we offer a solitary curriculum that brings advanced practices into reach outside of traditional initiatory structures.

Invitation

The Wild Blackthorn’s structure exists to support transformation, community, and service. Wherever you begin;  in the Grove, in the Academy, or in solitary devotion,  the path will unfold as you walk it.
